Last Post - Laurence Fletcher 5955 Warrant Officer Class 2 Laurence George Fletcher, a former member of 2RAR, passed on 1st July at Hollywood Hospital Perth, W.A. after dealing with a serious illness. Laurie was the Bandmaster of 2 RAR Band in Korea 1953-54. Those who served in Korea during his time will well remember Laurie and his claim to fame of introducing the un-official regimental march, "Hoop-de-doo", to the Battalion. The men of the Second Battalion accepted the new march with glee and used to sing its words with gusto when played. Laurie was well known and liked by the Officers and men of the Battalion. Laurie was 86 years of age. Funeral details to be advised.
