This is a fledgling 7MD band (two years old)  genuinely at Ayers Rock for a concert in 1990. (no trick photography).

The Band had previously travelled from Darwin to Alice Springs to perform at the opening ceremony for the Honda Masters Games.
We also visited the 'School of the Air' where we played  Akers' Waltzing Matilda, accompanied by the voices of dozens of kids spread across the whole of Central Australia, on a HF radio hook-up!

At  Uluru the next evening, the band formed up on the roadway for this 'shoot', there were some 6 coach loads of tourists (predominantly Japanese) all scrambling for the rare photo opportunity.
The Band climbed 'the rock' the following morning (in PT gear)  and spontaneously sang 'Advance Australia Fair' on reaching the top.     Geoff Carter
